Introduction
After treading the boards for over 10 years as a guitarist with UK metal-core underdogs Stampin' Ground, Scott founded GRINDSTONE STUDIO in 2005, focusing on producing metal, hardcore and rock bands.
Stampin' Ground made 3 albums for Century Media Records between 1995 and 2005, and each time the band entered the studio, Scott became increasingly interested in production and engineering. As digital recording crept in during the early 2000s, he foresaw a realistic and affordable way to put together his own studio and never looked back.
Grindstone Studio has earned a solid reputation within the modern metal industry, producing albums at a global level for established record labels including Nuclear Blast, Earache and Metal Blade. Although always busy with production for the likes of Cradle Of Filth, Devilment, Sylosis and Savage Messiah, he has also worked alongside heavyweight producers such as Andy Sneap and Colin Richardson on bands like Amon Amarth and Behemoth.
Scott's aim is to help musicians realise their true potential and to achieve their artistic vision. When so many bands lack originality and character, his work ethic is to push for great performances rather than to digitally create them, so that the recording sounds like a living thing rather than a cold, robotic version of one.
