EQP-WA
Tube Program Equalizer
Faithful Recreation Of The Industry-Standard Tube Equalizer
MSRP $799
The One EQ To Rule Them All
The EQP-WA faithfully recreates the most renowned tube equalizer in recording history, the original vintage Pultec-Style “EQP-1A.”Just like the original, the all-analog EQP-WA is able to maintain full, harmonically rich tone while adding and subtracting frequency information, compared to plug-ins and digital emulations that are unable to preserve the full character while sculpting the tone. The 100% analog, fully-discrete circuit adds anything from thump to punch to brilliance on the way in or in post-processing to program material. The original has been used on legendary recordings by artists like Led Zeppelin, John Mayer, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and more. Producers from Geroge Martin to Rick Rubin have used vintage originals to shape the sound of music’s biggest hits for decades.
Pure Sound-Shaping With Rich Analog Tone
Equalization is a key element of any professional recording, and the EQP-1A-style of EQ is the industry benchmark for professional EQ without compromising tone. To combat the expected tone loss during signal processing, the EQP-WA is designed just like the original with discrete tubes and transformers designed to enhance tone, not destroy it. Loaded with premium 12AX7 & 12AU7 tubes and CineMag transformers, the output amplifier section of the EQP-WA passes the EQ-corrected audio through tubes and transformers to maintain signal integrity and rich tone. This results in more width, depth, and separation on tracks. Favorite uses for the EQP-WA include setting vocals in a mix, adding final-touches to drums and final mixes, separating guitar tracks, and dialing in clarity to bass guitar. Even with that exhaustive list, there’s no studio application that the EQP-WA can’t handle.

What you need to know
Like the original EQP-style equalizer, the EQP-WA includes all the features that deliver a complete and professional recording experience.
The low frequency selector determines the frequency that can be emphasized with the amount control. Boosting & cutting at the same time can create desirable phase effects and clean up the midrange after the boost. Boost low frequencies from 0dB @ ‘0’ setting to 12dB @ ‘10’ setting. Cut low frequencies from 0dB @ ‘0’ setting to 18dB @ ‘10’ setting.
The high frequency boost selector determines the frequency that can be emphasized with the amount control. Boost high frequencies from 0dB @ ‘0’ setting to 18dB @ ‘10’ setting.
The high frequency cut selector determines the frequency that can be deemphasized with the amount control. Cut high frequencies from 0dB @ ‘0’ setting to 14dB @ ‘10’ setting.
The EQ section of the EQP-WA circuit is fully bypassable, but the signal will still run through the tubes and transformers for added warmth.
