Role Overview

We are seeking a senior-level hardware designer who will co-develop pro-audio equipment from concept to production. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in mixed-signal audio circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware bring-up, and can guide junior engineers through the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept & Architecture: Define system specifications, select components, and create schematic capture.
  • Mixed-Signal PCB Design: High-fidelity analog & digital design with strict noise/EMI control.
  • Hardware Prototyping: Bring-up, testing, and debugging with lab equipment.
  • Compliance & Reliability: Meet FCC, CE, RoHS standards and EMI requirements.
  • Documentation & Handoff: Produce BOMs, test procedures, and manufacturing docs.
  • Collaboration: Work across firmware, ID, and acoustic teams.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior engineers in best practices.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Additional duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education

B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or related). 10+ years experience may substitute.

Experience

Minimum 6 years designing mixed-signal audio circuits.

Technical Skills

  • Mixed-signal PCB design (Altium preferred)
  • Audio topologies (preamp, power amp, DAC/ADC)
  • Power design (linear & switching)
  • Digital interfaces (I²S, SPI, I²C, RS-232)
  • Lab equipment (DMM, scope, analyzers)

Design Practices

Proven ability to meet noise, distortion, and EMI specs with high-performance PCB design.

Soft Skills

Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Audio converters, codecs, DSP hardware
  • Advanced Altium proficiency
  • Compliance knowledge (FCC, CE, RoHS)
  • Mentorship experience
  • SI/PI tools (HyperLynx, ADS, SPICE)
